To keep the games running smoothly and the atmosphere just right for everyone, we kindly ask all guests, members, and private hire groups to follow the guidelines below. By visiting or booking with us, you’re agreeing to these terms.

General

For anyone who is demonstrating acts of anti-social behaviour, Sip & Conquer reserves the right to refuse admission or will require that the individual/s leave the premises. This is at the sole discretion of the Duty Manager. In these circumstances, no refund for table fees, food or drink will be given.

Behaviours include:

• Any form of physical or verbal aggression towards our staff & customers or acting in an anti-social way.

• Disturbing or disrupting others’ enjoyment

• If a person/s appears to be intoxicated or under the influence of other drugs

• Where there might be a risk of safety to others

• Smoking on the premises (including the use of e-cigarettes)

• Drinking alcohol not purchased on the premises and infringing licensing law

Bookings

All table bookings in slots of either one-and-a-half or three hours—plenty of time to build empires, betray friends, or try something new from our shelves.

A non-refundable table fee is required when reserving your table. This helps us keep the library in great condition and ensures your spot is waiting for you. The fee isn’t redeemable against food or drink, but it does guarantee you a space to play.

We hold tables for 15 minutes after your start time. If you arrive later than that, we may have to release the table to walk-ins. Though we’ll always try to accommodate group size changes, our ability to do so depends on how busy the venue is. And while we’ll do our best to seat you somewhere lovely, specific tables can’t be guaranteed unless arranged through private hire.

Cancellation Policy

Life happens—dragons appear, plans shift—table fees for pre-bookings are refundable up to 24 hours in advance. If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, drop us an email and we’ll sort it out for you. Within 24 hours of your booking, table fees are non-refundable. 

Arrivals more than 15 minutes late count as a no-show, and the fee can’t be credited or transferred.

Under 18s & Under 14s Policy

We love welcoming younger players, and under 18s are invited to join the fun until 9pm. We may ask for ID when needed. Some evening events may be 18+ only, and in those cases, under 18s won’t be admitted—even with a booking.

Under 14s must always be accompanied by a responsible adult who keeps an eye on them throughout the visit. 

Please ensure young gamers treat our games, furniture, and fellow guests with care. Any damage caused is the responsibility of their supervising adult.

Private Hire Terms & Conditions

Whether you're planning a birthday bash, a company showdown, or a night of competitive chaos with friends, private hire requires a non-refundable deposit. For larger events, full payment may be requested in advance.

Some hires may include a minimum spend or additional staffing charges; we’ll always make these clear when you book.

All payments for private hire are non-refundable, though we may be able to reschedule at our discretion. Hired spaces must be used within the agreed start and end times—extra time may incur additional fees.

As host, you’re responsible for the behaviour of your group and any damage caused to the Venue or its games. Unless specifically agreed, outside food and drink aren’t permitted.

Membership Terms & Conditions

Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable, and benefits apply only to the member named. We may ask for ID to confirm membership use.

If you purchase a membership online, simply pop into the café to exchange your purchase for a physical membership card—that’s your key to all the perks.

Our High Council Members enjoy enhanced privileges, but these come with a fair use policy. To ensure everyone can enjoy the library and our spaces, we may limit extended stays or priority bookings during especially busy times. Sharing membership benefits or attempting to bend the rules may lead to warnings, suspension, or cancellation of membership without refund (and possibly some stern looks).
